Science Project, Week 20

We're halfway there! 20 weeks or 5 months, and I can't believe this is the halfway mark! I was surprised to realize that full term is really 10 months, not 9 months, the way dates are counted. So much baby development has been invisible before now. My belly is now finally beginning to poke out, though it's hard to tell when I'm fully dressed. Sometimes when I tell people I'm 5 months along, they look incredulous. In fact, if I hadn't seen the ultrasounds and heard the heartbeat and been told development is right on track, I'd wonder if I was fantasizing the whole thing! I guess I'm just lucky and carry it well. I may be slim, but I've got strong abs and pretty good sized hips.

I had another ultrasound at 19 weeks, the last one I'll have for quite awhile. Now that we're over the chancy months, and it's been confirmed development is normal, my midwife says I get to relax and be test free for a while. I don't have another checkup for 6 weeks. Here's the little guy again, not looking much different from 16 weeks, but he is bigger. And yes! We're thinking of names. Real suggestions welcome!

So you seem like you must be feeling much better!!! Your tummy looks so cute :)

I hope you had a great birthday! I'm so sorry I didn't get to talk to you in person. I'll be out that way tomorrow night though...I'll call you guys and duck out of knitting a little early to come and visit :)

So you're taking name suggestions?? I wish wish wish I had thought up this name for one of my guys. My friend just named her baby boy "Odin" I love that name sooooo much. Odin is a Norse God associated with wisdom, war, battle, and death, and also magic, poetry, prophecy, victory, and the hunt.

That name and we almost named Riley "Rowan". Love that name too. Good luck! It's hard to pick a name isn't it? But you have plenty of time :)

Julia, It's so exciting that you're going to have a baby boy!
I obviously have not kept up with you and I had no idea! I will have to keep up better now, that's for sure. I need to get out of this zombie-ness from working full time and driving up & down the freeway all the time. No one from Shoreline told me either - why?? Were you keeping it secret?
Peter said he really enjoyed reading your blog.
