Full nest

I have been watching a pigeon in San Francisco sit on her nest. How is this possible? Through the magic of the interwebs! This particular videocam is also running a program which puts a little fez on her head (or sometimes her butt). Her name is Shirley. Yesterday her chicks hatched and I watched! Although pigeons are not as exciting to me as Bewick's wrens, I have still secretly always wondered where pigeons come from. I mean, have you ever seen anything other than a full grown pigeon?
